My particular area of interest is rumination and worry and helping individuals intercept ‘stuck’ cognitive cycles. My main treatment approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), alongside Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). I also incorporate third wave psychological approaches, such as compassion focused therapy, mindfulness and dialectical behavioural therapy in my work.
I completed my CBT training at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings college London, under expert guidance and supervision. I am fully accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP) and a member of the EMDR Association, UK & Ireland.
I am passionate about implementing equality and fairness throughout my practice. My clinical experience has emphasised the need to respect and value individual differences in age, sexuality, disability, gender, spirituality, race and culture, as well as the need to account for physical and sensory difficulties. I continue to adapt my practice and to work in ethical and flexible ways with clients.
