Counselling & Therapy – in London & Online

I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist based at Monument in the City of London, minutes from Bank, London Bridge, Cannon Street and Liverpool Street stations. I am also an experienced online practitioner, having offered online sessions since 2014.

I work with individuals on their personal and professional issues and crises, as well as with couples/people facing relationship obstacles and challenges.

You might be considering therapy because you are experiencing a painful situation; facing an overwhelming life decision/change; or you could be interested in exploring the meaning of your life.

I provide a confidential space, and take an open and unprejudiced approach to what you bring to therapy. Together, we will address your issues at present, and help you develop awareness, resilience and your own ability to bring about change and personal growth. We will collaborate on examining the challenges you are facing, make choices and decisions congruent with who you are, and discover your potential for fulfilment and joy.

I work with adults and adolescents on both short-term and long-term bases, and I have helped clients with depression, stress & anxiety, family & relationship issues, concerns over career & life choices, sexuality & gender issues, addictions, self-esteem issues, bereavement, questions of spirituality & meaning, and issues arising from cultural identity & difference. As a practitioner with an international, multi-cultural background spanning three continents, diversity and inclusion are cornerstone values of my practice, and I have a long history of working with the LGBTQIA+ community. My clients have included corporate professionals, performers, scientists, students, and more. I am also able to offer therapy in Mandarin and/or Cantonese.

  • I have particular experience with clients facing cultural, relationship, workplace, gender and sexuality issues.
  • I am also able to provide professional and life coaching from a therapeutic perspective.
  • A further list of issues I can help with, including video answers to frequently asked questions, can be found on my website.

I am a Registered Member MBACP of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy [BACP] and abide by their Ethical Framework. My practice is fully insured.

Starting Therapy…

You might feel anxious about seeking help, talking about yourself, and the therapeutic process itself. I invite you to get in touch for a brief discussion about your concerns, and to arrange an initial session where we can explore what you are going through at present, afford you an opportunity to ask questions, and mutually agree a way forward. Please be assured that all contact with me is kept in the strictest confidence in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework.

If you would like to know more, please visit my website, where I provide video answers to Frequently Asked Questions about counselling & psychotherapy, and much more.

About me…

Prior to counselling, I trained as a lawyer and was awarded a Masters of Law degree from New York University’s School of Law. I worked in both the legal and publishing industries in New York City, before moving into business & financial consulting, corporate advisory, human resources management, local government and the charity sector in London, and I am well acquainted with the stresses and demands of modern living. Having lived and worked internationally throughout my life, I recognise that my formative experiences across cultures and languages were sometimes challenging, always enlightening, and I have been inspired to explore human nature and behaviour to gain deeper insight and understanding of what it means to be alive and to live well in today’s world.

In addition to my private practice, I am a Counsellor and Supervisor at The Putneymead Group Medical Practice within the National Health Service [NHS]. I am a Study Tutor for trainee counsellors at The Psychosynthesis Trust. My counselling and therapeutic experience includes working with adolescents and staff at Mander Portman Woodward, a private college in London, and working at The Koan Practice and Number 42: The Complete Psychotherapy, Counselling and Well-Being Practice, and I previously spent 5 years supporting people in crisis with The Central London Samaritans.

I practise Psychosynthesis therapy, an integrative transpersonal approach that works with your feelings, mind & body, and I also incorporate elements of Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Mindfulness & Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I hold a Graduate Certificate in Psychosynthesis Foundations and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling and Psychotherapy, which is accredited by the BACP and validated by the University of East London. As a fully insured Registered Member MBACP, I regularly attend further training as part of my continuing professional development and abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. My credentials can be verified against the BACP Voluntary Register [Registration 072634]
