The Mudlarks vegetarian and vegan café is situated in the heart of Hertford Town’s Fore street and is an all inclusive welcoming place to be.

Our café workers are a diverse team, many live with learning difficulties and mental health concerns, all bring to our café skills and enthusiasm in abundance. Mudlark’s café welcomes once isolated learning disabled people into society where we offer training and employment and lifelong skills and friendships are made here.

We are ecologically and environmentally conscious, growing as many of the ingredients as possible locally on our allotments, again by people living with learning difficulties. The fresh produce is then brought to the café, transported just a mile into the town centre.

We serve food that is tasty, healthy, and nourishing.  Freshly made breakfasts, salads, soups, hot and cold savouries are available every day.  We have a wide choice of additive-free cakes, pastries, and desserts baked daily on-site.  All our food is vegetarian and we always have vegan, gluten-free, wheat-free, and dairy-free options.  We use Fair Trade ingredients wherever possible.
