My name is Dr. Erica Essary and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor who specializes in providing services to gender and sexually diverse people, with particular focus on transgender individuals.  As a member of the community, my goal is to create an affirming space for people to explore their identities, navigate transitions, and improve the quality of their lives.  This may include therapy, assessment, and letter writing for the purposes of gender affirming surgeries.  I also understand some clients may not be seeking therapy related to gender and/or sexuality but want to know they are with a supportive professional and I am committed to providing sensitive, affirming, and competent care. I am also polyamorous and kink affirming.

I am a member of the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT) and licensed in multiple states which allows me to be able to provide telehealth services to those outside of my home state of Illinois.  I am in network with major commercial insurances as well as Medicare and can assist with understanding your benefits.  You may also choose to pay out of pocket for services.
